The elevator is the principle device through which the Severance chip is activated, triggering the separation of memory enabled by the Severance Procedure. It is located in the Lumon Industries headquarters and provides access between the lobby and the Severed Floor, as well as to other floors.

An apparently separate elevator leads from the Severed Floor to the Testing Floor.

A number of other floors at Lumon headquarters accessible by the main elevator are revealed in the data banks visible in the Security Office.

From top to bottom, they are:

Six further floors appear to exist below the fourth, but their names are not legible.

The real-life building used for exterior shots of Lumon Industries, the Bell Labs Holmdel Complex, has only six floors.^[1]
