Prior to his election to the PE State Senate, Arteta was the Mayor of a small town called Wileston. He currently is serving his second term in the State senate.

The trajectory of his political career can be traced to his advocacy of legalizing severance. [[Lumon Industries]] financially supports his campaigns.

He and his wife Gabriela have three sons—Declan, Kaim, and newborn Bradley.
