The **code detectors** are message detectors built into the [[Lumon Industries]] [[severed floor]] elevators. They can detect all messages and codes.

These detectors are first mentioned in [[Half Loop]]. [[Mark Scout|Mark]] describes them to [[Helena Eagan|Helly]] as “metal detectors
for written symbols”(([[half_loop_transcript#section001527052|Half Loop (15:27)]])). In the episode, when the code detectors are triggered the hallway lights start flashing red and white and [[doug_graner|Graner]] is alerted.
